The rooms at Killasonna
Lodge have names. The entry hall is the Nicolet Room, after
Jean Nicolet, emissary of Governor Samuel de Champlain of New
France, who crossed Lake Michigan and landed in Green Bay in 1634.
He thought he was going to be landing in the Far East (specifically,
China). Instead, he found what is now Wisconsin.
The main room at
Killasonna Lodge is call the Winnebago Room, to commemorate the
Native Americans who first lived in this area.
The first floor bedroom
is called the Downstairs Bedroom, in recognition of it's location in
the house (at least for the moment).
The loft, above the
kitchen and dining area, is called the Game Room.
The small bedroom, on
the second floor, is call the North Attic. Initially it was to
be a storage attic.
We are endeavoring to
come up with better names.
